  3.          Member and Donation Tracking System SETUP Instructions

  5.      1.  Make a hard disk directory (read your DOS manual)
  6.          CD\                  get to "root" of hard drive
  7.          MD\???               where ??? is a name you pick
  8.      2.  COPY A:*.* C:\???    (or COPY B:*.* D:\???) (or "whatever")
  9.                               where ??? is your directory name
  10.      3.  Change to your directory
  11.          CD\???               where ??? is a name you pick
  12.      4.  M4                   starts the program
  13.      5.  Read the M4.TXT manual
  14.          COPY M4.TXT PRN      to print
  15.      6.   Be sure that your CONFIG.SYS file has the following two lines:
  16.           These are minimum values for M4.EXE to work.
  17.                BUFFERS=20
  18.                FILES=20
  19.

  21.      TO UPDATE FROM VERSION 3.2 TO THE JANUARY 1991 VERSION 4.2.9

  23.      You MUST copy the following update files to your MDTS directory!!!
  24.           see STEP 2, above

  26.      Enter the command M4UPDATE (see M4UPDATE.BAT)
  27.         
  28.      AFTER you copy your old files and program to a "just-in-case" disk,
  29.      you may delete the original files listed above, and MDT3.EXE also.

  31.      Remember to enter DEL *.NTX before restarting the program.

  34.      To update from version T copy/rename as above EXCEPT:
  35.       -- Do NOT enter the command COPY MEMBERS.DBF A04_MBER.DBF
  36.       -- Doing so WILL CAUSE DATA DESTRUCTION

  38.      Version 3 (and later, including version 4) has a different file
  39.      structure than that of Version T (and earlier) for members.
  40.      
  41.      Start M4.EXE and then press U from the main menu (with the old file
  42.      MEMBERS.DBF present) to append (copy) data from old format to new.
